Since I read a lot of webcomics I thought I might share my thought on some of them, write some sort of a mini review."Stand still. Stay Silent"
is a post-apocalyptic webcomic taking place in Scandinavia. It's still in an early phase of it's story (gathering the main cast) and it has a very, seemingly unnecessary long prologue that led me to believe it would be something more like The Walking Dead, showing the fall of humanity. It turns out however that it's going to be more of a "man vs hostile environment", which is a genre I like a lot.
As I said, the main cast is still gathering, but it's already showing some interesting stuff. One unusual thing is that it's a multinational group, but not everyone shares languages, so Finnish Lalli has no way to communicate with Swedish Emil, and the former's weirdness with the latter's egocentrism may lead to both amusing and tense interactions between the two. This also leads to a second strong point: worldbuilding. The comic comes handy with maps, information on technology, beliefs, in-world advertisements and the lot, giving all the information the characters don't need explaining to the reader without awkward in comic exposition.
Artwise the comic is interesting too. While the character designs are a little lacking (a lot of sameface IMO, and I'd prefer a bit more "gritty" look to them), the environments are well drawn and pretty. I love that the author decided to limit her pallette: the comic uses only oranges, beiges, some reds and lots of bluish-grays. It's very climatic, especially considering the part of the world the action is taking place in.
In conclusion: well developed world, promising characters, great art, updates 5 days a week. I recommend you give it a read.
